Well i do what i always do with LJ after i post, forget to use it again.
As a transit driver, we sign out work usually 4 times a year, kinda like each season you get a different schedule. This year was a bit different due to the 2010 Olympic Winter games being held here next February. I try to sign work that gives me weekends off and hours that fit in regards to taking the kids to school and making sure Chelsea can work and pick the kids up. So right now for the fall I work 205pm to 930pm monday to friday, i was also able to sign that right up till Jan 31st. During the games though i was not able to sign that (to put things in perspective i signed on day 20 of 26, yes we have thousands of drivers and my seniority aint all that great). What i did get during the games seems interesting though, starting at 1133pm and working till 638am, neat. Wont ever get another chance to drive the bus all night long as this is a special schedule to have bus service 24/7 while the games are on. Late night service ends at about 3am. Then in March i am back to my usual schedule till mid May, after that who knows dont sign that for awhile.
Enough about work.
Xmas is coming, oh sweet joy of joys! Well okay not so much but Chelsea and the kidlets love this stuff so its my duty to make sure they have a good one. Even putting a tree up this year my first tree ever as an adult. Hopefully it can all go smooth and we can get into the new year with everyone happy with their gains.
So in the last year or so ive really become interested in high end audio, from a headphone and earphone perspective. It is a strange and seemingly very expensive hobby, a lot of people dont understand why you need this or that. This or that being 400 dollar earphones, an equally expensive portable amplifier, a DAC for your computer (digital analog converter) etc, i could go on. I love music and want to hear it at its best in my head. So recently thanks to my lovely girlfriend i was able to order a few holiday season deals, which i am very excited about.
By next week i should have 2 new sets of IEM's(inner ear monitors aka earphones) to play with. The much vaunted Ultimate Ears Triple Fi Pro Vi's which retail for 399 US (thank you Amazon for your gold box 99 dollar sale!) and HiFiMan's RE252's which retail for 199 US but again thanks to Black Friday did a 48 hour 99 dollar sale. Looking very forward to playing around with these 2 excellent 'phones.
